Barber suffered the injury during the preseason and has yet to make his debut with the Bears, who signed the former Dallas Cowboys' Pro Bowler to a two-year, $4.5 million contract to be the No. 2 back behind Matt Forte. After the release of veteran Chester Taylor, those duties have fallen to Kahlil Bell while Barber has been inactive. Bell has 23 yards on 11 carries in two games this season.
This week, Barber was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday before being a full participant in Friday's practice, putting him on target to back up Forte on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. Barber is considered to be a game-time decision.
During his six-year career with the Cowboys, Barber had 56 carries for 263 yards and a touchdown in four games against the Packers.
