Tony Romo Status: Romo Confirms That He Will Play

Tony Romo confirmed that he will play in Dallas’ Monday Night Football game against the Washington Redskins this week, broken rib and all. Romo confirmed his status on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown today. Here’s what he told broadcasters:

I’m getting better as the week goes on. I’ll deal with it over the course of the next month, but I’ll be good to go this week.

Romo suffered a broken rib and a punctured lung last week in a comeback win over the San Francisco 49ers. His status for this week’s game against the division rival Redskins has been the subject of much debate. He did not practice until yesterday, leading many to conclude that he was likely to play this week.

Look for plenty of hype leading up to this game.
