Darren McFadden didn't find much room to run against the Broncos as they focused on him in Week 4. We break down the fantasy implications.
The Raiders offense struggled altogether in Week 4 against the Broncos, but Darren McFadden in particular was the key to Denver's defensive shutdown. The Broncos game plan revolved around containing the Raiders leading rusher, and McFadden couldn't find any room to run.
Fantasy Impact: With Carson Palmer failing to make anything happen through the air, it was easy for the Broncos to stop McFadden as they loaded the box against him. Opposing defenses will likely continue to focus on him as long as the Raiders aren't accomplishing much in the passing game. Last week Palmer threw three touchdowns against the Steelers, taking the pressure off McFadden and allowing him to rush for over 100 yards. If Palmer can step up his game, McFadden will benefit. Fantasy owners shouldn't worry quite yet, but it is concerning to see one of the league's best backs averaging just 3.5 yards per carry.
