Robert Mathis injury update: Colts DE is out 2-3 weeks

The Colts defensive end leads the team with 5 sacks but will miss a few games. We break down the fantasy implications.

Mark Sanchez and Brandon Weeden can never rest on their laurels or hope that they're going to make the Pro Bowl this season, but they can rest a little easier knowing that they won't see Robert Mathis. The Colts defensive end is going to miss at least two games with a sprained left knee. Mathis has been on an absolute tear this season with five sacks in four games, with at least one sack each week. The 31-year-old in his tenth season has 88.5 sacks in his career. Pretty good for a guy drafted in the fifth round.

Fantasy Take: Obviously this is a blow to IDP owners that had Mathis and were racking up a few points each week from a position that is incredibly difficult to get points out of usually. It's also better news for anyone that owned Sanchez or Weeden, and they could really use some good news.
