Don McPeak-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
The Titans have ruled Jake Locker out for Week 7, giving Matt Hasselbeck the start again. We break down the fantasy implications.
Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (shoulder) has already been ruled out for Week 7 against the Buffalo Bills, reports Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. The team was hoping that Locker would be ready to play after getting an extra long week of rest off the Thursday Night game, so it's a bit of a surprise that they already ruled him out before practices even started.
Hasselbeck completed 25-of-44 passes for 290 yards, one TD and one INT as he led the Titans to an upset win over the Steelers in Week 6.
Fantasy Impact: Hasslebeck has a fraction of the raw physical talent Locker does, but he makes up for it with veteran savvy and keeping mistakes down. The Titans have a reasonable shot of getting to .500 after a dismal start to the season, facing the ugly defenses of Buffalo and Indianapolis.
Fantasy owners can safely plug Hasselbeck in as a QB2 this week while keeping Locker on the shelf in case he can go in Week 8.
