Scott Fujita's 11-year career could possibly be at an end. We break down the fantasy implications.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on Monday Night Countdown that Cleveland Browns LB Scott Fujita has a neck injury that has "team & player fear is career ender". Fujita sat out in Week 6 after suffering an injury against the Giants in Week 5. It was initially thought to be a shoulder injury, but it's clearly way more serious than the team feared.
Fujita has 12 tackles and one sack on the year.
Fantasy Impact: This would be a pretty ignominious end to the linebacker's 11-year career, who spent the offseason fighting a three-game suspension for his role in the Saints' bounty scandal. He got it reduced to one game and is currently appealing, but that may be all moot after this latest news.
Needless to say, it's yet another big blow to Cleveland's defense, who are starved for real playmakers outside of Joe Haden. The Browns' D/ST unit will match up against Andrew Luck and the Colts in Week 7. I can't recommend starting them, unless you really like Josh Cribbs' chances to stay healthy. Haden remains the only IDP player of interest.
