San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers had an uneven fantasy performance on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos, throwing for 242 yards and two touchdowns but turning the ball over six times. Rivers got off to a fast start in the game, as the Chargers took a 24-0 lead only to allow 35 unanswered points.
Rivers' favorite target was Antonio Gates, who caught both of his touchdowns. Turnovers were the story of the night for the Chargers, though. Of Rivers' six turnovers, two were taken to the house.
Fantasy Impact: Philip Rivers was hot and cold on Monday Night Football. His turnovers absolutely killed his team's chances of winning. They also ruined his fantasy owners' evenings as well.
Rivers is no longer the elite fantasy option he once was. It's time to come to grips with that. His offensive line will continue to be suspect, and that will bog down his fantasy value.
