Joel Dreessen had a season-high six receptions for 57 yards on seven targets during the Denver Broncos' comeback win over the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football in Week 6. Jacob Tamme had just two receptions for 27 yards on two targets.
Dreessen failed to record a touchdown for the first time since Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons. He saw more targets than Tamme for the first time this season.
Fantasy Impact: Dreessen was a better fantasy option than Tamme over the three games prior to Monday, but only because he was able to find the end zone. Dreessen hadn't been the more productive tight end from a yardage standpoint since a middling performance in Week 3.
The good news is that Peyton Manning is playing superb football at the moment, and the tight end position clearly has a significant role within the Broncos' offense. Unfortunately, Tamme and Dreessen split targets too often to make either player a reliable weekly fantasy starter.
