Trent Richardson fantasy status uncertain for Week 7 due to rib injury

Trent Richardson's status for the Cleveland Browns' Week 7 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts is uncertain due to a rib injury suffered Sunday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Head coach Pat Shurmur called Richardson "day-to-day" after the running back sustained a rib cartilage injury on a blow to his side in a win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Richardson said Sunday that he believes he will be able to suit up against the Colts. The rookie has been a workhorse for the Browns this season. Through six games he has 340 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 95 carries, and 186 yards receiving and one touchdown on 22 receptions.

Fantasy Impact: If Richardson can't play Sunday, expect Montario Hardesty to shoulder the rushing load. Hardesty rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown last week with Richardson on the sideline. Either back is expected to be effective against a Colts defense that is giving up 5.0 yards per carry this season.

Be sure to keep an eye on the Browns' practice reports in the coming days. If Richardson is healthy, don't expect him to share the backfield much, if at all, with Hardesty. Hardesty had yet to record a touch this season until last week's game.
