The Pats other tight end finally returned in Week 6 but did he escape any setbacks? We break down the fantasy implications.
New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle) was limited on Wednesday but that's not surprising considering that he just finally returned to game action on Sunday. Hernandez has played full in two games now this season and has 12 catches for 89 yards and two touchdowns. It seems unlikely that he'll miss Week 7 against the Jets and this is likely precaution and normal routine for Bill Belichick.
Also notable on the Patriots injury report were Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, and Wes Welker being limited. Brandon Bolden and and Brandon Lloyd were both off of the injury report today, potentially easing concerns on their Week 7 status.
Fantasy Take: Hernandez goes back to being a top five fantasy tight end. Even in very limited action he already has two touchdowns and should continue to be a favorite target of Tom Brady in the red zone. He's a TE1 again.
