Dwayne Bowe trade rumors: Consistent fantasy receiver wants out of Kansas City, will he get it?

The franchised star wants off of the sinking ship but will his wish be granted?

The Kansas City Chiefs are 1-5 and they're 30th in scoring offense and 29th in scoring defense. In their only win of the season, they needed 21 straight points to beat the New Orleans Saints in overtime, and even then the offense stalled and required four Ryan Succop field goals (and a safety) to make up the ground. Matt Cassel is injured and ineffective and Brady Quinn hasn't even started 16 games in his career. Add it all up, and it might not be surprising that star receiver Dwayne Bowe wants out "badly" according to Yahoo's Jason Cole.

Bowe is currently playing on the franchise tag and is eligible to be tagged again next year, so it might be more valuable to Kansas City to trade him on the offseason. That, or Bowe might feel more comfortable staying if the Chiefs get a new quarterback... should they get the number one pick in the draft.

Fantasy Take: It doesn't sound like Bowe will be switching teams just yet (Miami was rumored, but might not mean anything) so fantasy owners should hold steady as is: Bowe in KC. That could be a bad thing if Quinn is asked to start for a prolonged period of time. In Quinn's first start, Bowe had his worst production of the season, gathering just three catches for 21 yards. Even if Cassel has nine interceptions to start the year, I believe that the Chiefs should be grateful that they have a Bye this week and can give Matt a little extra time to heal from a concussion. Likely, Quinn will be under center for a little while longer.

Unless Bowe is traded to a better situation, his value is dinged as long as Quinn is the starter.
