Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has thrown five interceptions in his last two games but offensive coordinator Jay Gruden wasn't ready blame it all on Dalton. Gruden said (via Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer) that he wasn't happy with the interceptions but some had more to do with game situations or breakdowns by a receiver.
Dalton has nine interceptions on the season but Gruden pointed out that one came at the end of a game and said another one came on a play that should resulted in a penalty on the defense. Added Gruden: "It's not like we are throwing the same play into the same coverage and the same guy is getting it."
Fantasy Impact: Dalton's fantasy stock has benefited from his relationship with A.J. Green, who continues to be one of the top receivers in football. Interceptions are frustrating to fantasy owners but they should realize that Dalton still has plenty of upside.
Dalton is a fringe No. 1 fantasy starter in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
