Adrian Peterson listed as probable, solid fantasy value for Week 7

Minnesota Vikings running back (ankle) Adrian Peterson returned to practice on Friday and is listed as probable for Week 7. We break down the fantasy implications.

Editor's Update: Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is listed as probable for Sunday's game with the Arizona Cardinals. Peterson is expected to start on Sunday.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was back on the practice field on Friday, a day after sitting out to rest his injured ankle. Peterson hurt the ankle in Week 5 but has played through the pain. Peterson missed practice on Thursday in part because the Vikings have to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday in Week 8.

Peterson has had 17 carries in each of the last two games, rushing for a combined 167 yards. The veteran running back is expected to play on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Impact: Peterson's status for Sunday was not a concern but it will be interesting to see how effective he is in Week 8 with such little time to rest. He has been getting a good number of carries in recent weeks but fantasy owners may see that number go down a little this weekend.

Peterson remains a No. 1 fantasy running back for Week 7 but expectations should be tempered in part because of Arizona's good defense and because the short week.
