Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers with a foot injury suffered in last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens, according to ESPN Dallas. Murray sprained his foot against the Ravens and did not practice all week.
The Cowboys hope they will have Murray back for next week's game against the New York Giants. Felix Jones will take over for Murray with Phillip Tanner serving as the primary backup.
Fantasy Impact: DeMarco Murray was running as well as he has all season when he went down with the foot sprain against the Ravens. Felix Jones, meanwhile, also flashed some ability, making him a very viable fantasy option against the weak Panthers run defense.
Murray's fantasy outlook does not look great. Foot sprains can be tricky. Just ask Darren McFadden, who had his 2011 season derailed by a similar injury.
