Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said Monday that Matt Cassel will start Week 5 against the Ravens, but backup Brady Quinn will see first-team snaps this week in case Cassel struggles again. We break down the fantasy implications.
Matt Cassel will start Week 5 when the Kansas City Chiefs play the Baltimore Ravens, but head coach Romeo Crennel said Monday that Brady Quinn will take first-team snaps in practice in case Cassel struggles again, according to the Kansas City Star. Cassel threw three first-half interceptions last week against the San Diego Chargers (one returned for a TD) and has 10 turnovers through four games this season.
Fantasy Impact: Cassel has the most turnovers of any quarterback in the NFL, and is on pace to finish with 40 for the regular season. His 70.4 passer rating is the fifth-worst in the league, ahead of only Ryan Tannehill, Brandon Weeden, Mark Sanchez and Jay Cutler. Suffice it to say, Cassel probably isn't a viable fantasy option in your league. Unfortunately, Quinn hasn't proven to be the answer as a starter at any point in his career.
