Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE
Rashard Mendenhall is out for Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications in the messy Pittsburgh backfield.
Rashard Mendenhall (Achiles) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals. Jonathan Dwyer is expected to start with Isaac Redman is also out.
Mendenhall has two starts this year and has totaled 128 yards from scrimmage and one TD. He has a 3.9 YPC and four receptions.
Fantasy Impact: Well, it doesn't help that he was ruled out early and that his last game came on a Thursday night. An Achlilles injury can be troublesome to a running back and Redskin back Roy Helu was place on I.R. because of it and other ailments. Mendenhall is still expected to be the start once he's healthy, so he should be owned in all leagues as a stash.
Jonathan Dwyer will start and is a flex play in most formats.
