We provide Week 7 NFL fantasy football projections for quarterbacks courtesy of numberFire.com
We're back for Week 7 of the 2012 NFL season. The 49ers and Seahawks got things going, although neither quarterback put together much in the way of a fantasy performance. Of course, given the number of byes this week, you might have been stuck with Alex Smith or Russell Wilson. Week 7 bye weeks include the Falcons, Broncos, Chiefs, Dolphins, Eagles and Chargers. Make sure to have replacements for Matt Ryan, Peyton Manning, Michael Vick and Philip Rivers..
We have been providing you with rankings all week long, but as Sunday dawns, it would be helpful to have some projections as well. Our Week 7 quarterback rankings are based on our pool of knowledge and often a bit of gut instinct. To improve your chances this year, we are going to provide Sunday projections courtesy of the folks at numberFire. NumberFire uses a series of mathematical models, to break down the action and figure out who exactly is performing well. They use the power of predictive and regressive modeling to more accurately project future performance.
It should surprise nobody that Robert Griffin III is atop numberFire's rankings. He is going on the road to face a feisty Giants squad, but RGIII has been putting up some great numbers thus far. While he very well could have some rookie missteps, there is no reason to sit him at this point.
NumberFire claims a higher predictive rate than the major companies (ESPN, CBS, Yahoo!). However, as with anything in fantasy football, we at SB Nation Fantasy view numberFire as one more weapon in your arsenal to claim victory. The numbers can help over the long term, but there are enough variables week-to-week that multiple sources can provide great value.
