Trent Richardson injured his ribs again and Montario Hardesty led the Browns in rushing. We break down the fantasy implications.
Trent Richardson wasn't effective against the Colts to limit his day to just eight carries for eight yards. Montario Hardesty took the majority of the snaps with seven carries for 28 yards on Sunday.
Richardson was heating up before injuring his ribs and now has 348 yards on 103 carries with four rushing TDs and a receiving TD. Hardesty had 15 carries for 56 yards last week and now looks like he'll be getting some share of the work until Richardson proves he can main a high level of play.
Fantasy Impact: What a difference two weeks makes. Richardson was making a case as a top-five back for the remainder of the season, but the rib injury looks like it has severely limited his ability to produce. This will be an interesting story to watch this week and fantasy owners will want to own Montario Hardesty as an insurance policy.
The Browns will take on the Chargers next week, but we'd probably avoid this situation as far as using Hardesty or Richardson, until further notice.
