Bruce Kluckhohn-US PRESSWIRE
LaRod Stephens-Howling was the No. 1 running back in Arizona against the Vikings. We break down the fantasy implications.
LaRod Stephens-Howling emerged as the top runner for the Cardinals in Week 7. He carried the ball 20 times for 104 yards and a touchdown on the ground, adding four receptions for another 45 yards.
William Powell only took the handoff four times. This was a complete switch from what we expected after last week, when Powell seemingly stepped up and earned the No. 1 role.
Fantasy Impact: If by some miracle you started the "Hyphen" this week, congratulations. You outplayed most of the fantasy world. Stephens-Howling did not run well last week, and to top that off, no back has finished with impressive numbers against Minnesota this season.
We can assume Stephens-Howling will shoulder the load again next week against the 49ers, but the Cardinals did surprise us this week by straying away from Powell after his 13-carry, 70-yard performance last week.
