Jared Allen listed as DNP in Monday's practice estimations, fantasy value should be fine

Geoff Burke-US PRESSWIRE

Jared Allen was listed as a DNP in Monday's practice estimations, but he's not expected to miss the game Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Minnesota Vikings DE Jared Allen (groin) was listed as a DNP (did not practice) on the team's practice estimations Monday. No actual practices were held, so this is just paperwork stuff for Thursday Night Football, but it does raise questions about Allen's availability for the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Allen has been his usual monster self this season, with 19 tackles, six sacks, a forced fumble and two passes defended.

Fantasy Impact: Could just be a precaution as the Vikings are heading into a short week, but it is something worth keeping an eye on. Allen missing the game would be a big blow to IDP leagues and Minnesota D/ST owners.

We'll monitor his status as the week goes on. If he's active, IDP players can start him as usual.
