Blaine Gabbert has suffered a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder, according to ESPN, and will visit with Dr. James Andrews on Tuesday to help determine his playing status for Week 8 when the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Green Bay Packers.
If Gabbert can't play, Chad Henne will start for the Jags when they go to Lambeau Field on Sunday. The Jaguars are already without running back Maurice Jones-Drew due to a foot injury.
Fantasy Impact: The Jaguars keep getting hit with bad news this week. Gabbert had been playing well--8-for-12 passing, 110 yards, one touchdown--before leaving Sunday's loss to the Oakland Raiders in the second quarter. Henne stepped in and struggled, going 9-for-20 passing for 71 yards. He also took three sacks.
While Gabbert's loss may be significant for the Jaguars, it shouldn't affect fantasy lineups too much. He wasn't a very good fantasy option even in two-quarterback leagues. Henne hasn't done anything to suggest he will be any kind of an upgrade. Stay far away from the situation for now.
