Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, after rushing for 153 yards and a touchdown in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals. Peterson had 23 carries for the Vikings, who face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday.
It will be a quick turnaround for Peterson, who has been dealing with an ankle injury the past few weeks. He was held out of practice on Tuesday but coach Leslie Frazier said (via The Pioneer Press) that the team no longer needs to manage Peterson's workload in games.
Fantasy Impact: If the Vikings aren't worried about Peterson, then there is no reason for fantasy owners to be concerned either. Minnesota relied heavily on Peterson in Week 7 against the Cardinals and that likely won't change on Thursday.
Peterson remains a No. 1 fantasy option at running back.
