Eric P. Mull-US PRESSWIRE
Cleveland's franchise back says he is going to play through a rib injury, but the Chargers are a tough matchup. We break down the fantasy implications.
Browns running back Trent Richardson (ribs) insists that he will play in Week 8 against the San Diego Chargers, despite the injury. Richardson suffered the injury in Week 6, which forced him to come out of the game against the Bengals, but then returned in Week 7 against the Colts. However, Richardson was pulled in the second half in favor of Montario Hardesty because head coach Pat Shurmer felt that the injury was effecting his play. Richardson has 348 yards rushing with four touchdowns on the year.
Fantasy Take: Banged up and facing a Chargers defense ranked first against the run, Richardson seems like a possible sit this week, even if he is one of your top two backs. He does possess the ability to make plays through the passing game, but this is a questionable game to start him if you have another option.
