Peyton Hillis was limited in practice Wednesday for the Kansas City Chiefs due to a lingering ankle injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Peyton Hillis was limited in practice for the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday due to the ankle injury that has kept him sidelined since Week 3, the team's official site reports. He practiced Monday for the very first time since the injury.
Hillis has 21 carries for 93 yards through appearances in three games this season. The Chiefs have not officially announced anything regarding his status for Week 8 against the Oakland Raiders. Even if active, Jamaal Charles is expected to shoulder the workload at running back.
Fantasy Impact: It would be expecting too much of Hillis to suddenly move him into your starting lineup coming off a four-week layoff. While it looked like he could be entering a timeshare early in the season, it is clear at this point that the backfield belongs to Charles until further notice.
Once fully healthy, Hillis could steal goal-line touches and put a significant dent into Charles' fantasy production. Owners of both backs will want to pay plenty attention to how Hillis is used once he returns to action.
