Joe McKnight was held out of practice Thursday, but he's "optimistic" about playing in Week 8. We break down the fantasy implications.
New York Jets RB/KR Joe McKnight (ankle) missed practice Thursday, but according to ESPN New York, he's "optimistic" about his chances to play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. McKnight suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 6, but came back to play against the Patriots just one week later.
McKnight has 117 rushing yards and 6.6 YPC on the season. His real value comes on special teams, where he has 562 kick return yards and a TD.
Fantasy Impact: McKnight saw seven touches on Sunday when Shonn Greene briefly left with a head injury, but other than that his fantasy value is low as a RB. With Bilal Powell also missing practice, the Jets' RB depth is precariously low right now.
Fantasy owners shouldn't bother with McKnight on an individual level, but his returning skills make him valuable to Jets D/ST owners. We'll keep you updated on his status.
