Doug Martin exploded for multiple career-highs against the Vikings. We break down the fantasy implications.
Doug Martin put in a monstrous performance to kick off Week 8. He carried the ball 29 times for 135 yards and a touchdown, catching three passes for 79 yards and another touchdown as well on Thursday night.
The Vikings couldn't do anything to slow the rookie runner down until later in the second half, when the game was getting out of hand.
Fantasy Impact: The Bucs were clearly onto something when they moved up to take Martin in this year's draft. He is the clear workhorse in the backfield and at the goal line now.
LeGarrette Blount received eight carries on the night, but you shouldn't pay any attention to his stat line. He only came in to give Martin a rest. They don't want to wear out their rookie just eight weeks into the season. Expect another promising outing from Martin next week against the Raiders.
