We break down the pertinent fantasy projections for the Week 8 matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Green Bay Packers
The 1-5 Jacksonville Jaguars travel to face the 4-3 Green Bay Packers in the biggest mismatch of Week 8. The Packers have won two straight and seem to be finding their offensive identity, while the Jaguars seem to be circling the drain. In order to prepare you for fantasy football each week, we are adding game-by-game projections courtesy of numberFire.
Rashad Jennings and Cecil Shorts are likely the only two guys you want to be starting, although an argument could be made for Josh Scobee to get some field goal opportunities. Jennings is replacing an injured Maurice Jones-Drew, and gets a decent matchup. The Packers are not great against the run, but if they jump out to a big lead, do the Jaguars abandon the run? Or does Jennings get extra touches early to try and control the clock and keep this thing close?
Shorts' value comes in potential garbage time of a blowout. If the Packers do as expected and win handily, I expect at least one garbage time touchdown from Shorts.
Green Bay Packers
The only real question mark among who to start from your corps of Packers would be Jordy Nelson. The Packers receiver is questionable after sitting out the last two days of practice. If he is active, consider starting him, but even then he could be limited by his hamstring. You should likely consider alternatives.
Otherwise, the Packers are all great starts in both the passing and rushing attack. numberFire does not project huge numbers, but that could be in part because we could see Aaron Rodgers spreading the wealth throughout the game. That is worth considering, but in reality, start your Packers with confidence.
