Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE
Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker continues to be bothered by a shoulder injury. We breakdown the fantasy implications.
Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker was listed as "out" early this week on the team's injury report. The Titans QB was limited in practice this week with a shoulder injury, and will be inactive again in Week 8. Starting in his place, Matt Hasselbeck will lead the Tennessee Titans against the Indianapolis Colts.
It's a good sign that Locker is practicing, but still isn't well enough to suit up and backup Hasselbeck. His return this season, while possible, is still unpredictable at this point.
Fantasy Analysis: Locker began the season for the Titans as the starter, but gave up the job to Hasselbeck when he took a vicious hit. This could potentially keep him in a backup role for the rest of the season, as Tennessee was not competing like they are now. The Titans also want to be careful with their young franchise quarterback, and refrain from rushing him back into action.
Luckily, fantasy owners were not counting on Locker to help lead their fantasy team this season. Locker should be off the fantasy radar at this point.
