We break down the pertinent fantasy projections for the Week 8 matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles.

The 3-3 Philadelphia Eagles host the 6-0 Atlanta Falcons in a matchup that could prove key to the Eagles chances of sticking around the playoff race. The Falcons are rolling right now, but this is arguably their toughest challenge to date. The game features a host of fantasy weapons, and in order to prepare you for fantasy football this week, we've got player projections courtesy of numberFire.

Atlanta Falcons

The undefeated Falcons are rolling right now, although Matt Ryan's fantasy numbers were surprisingly pedestrian against a weak Raiders defense. He faces a tougher test in the Eagles, but remains a guy you start week-in and week-out. If you have strong QB depth you may sit him, but for most leagues of ten or more teams, he is likely a solid start for you.

Michael Turner remains a solid enough fantasy start, although you do have to acknowledge the fact that he will have some poor performances mixed in. Many fantasy owners figured Jacquizz Rodgers would surpass Turner on the depth chart some point this season, but thus far Turner has held on to his job. He faces a fairly solid Eagles rush defense, so temper your expectations this weekend.

Philadelphia Eagles

If Andy Reid were any normal coach, he would pound the rock with LeSean McCoy all day long against a questionable rush defense. Of course, Andy Reid is no normal coach. His stubborn ways cost the Eagles time and again, and it would not surprise anybody if he figured out away to out-think himself against Atlanta. McCoy remains a strong start, but he could be so much more against Atlanta.

Even after losing Brent Grimes, the Falcons pass defense has remained solid. Jeremy Maclin is coming off his best performance to date, hauling in six passes for 130 yards and a touchdown against the Detroit Lions prior to Philadelphia's bye. While he has a ton of upside, his inconsistent performances before that result in otherwise less than stellar projections. He and Michael Vick remain the top two fantasy options in the Eagles passing attack, and are worth starting in many situations. Unfortunately odds are good that they will underwhelm once again.
