Aaron Hernandez injury update: Out for Sunday, no fantasy value this week

Otto Greule Jr

Aaron Hernandez is out for Week 8 against the Rams. We break down the fantasy implications.

New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez (ankle) has been officially ruled out for Sunday's annual London game against the St. Louis Rams. Hernandez had a setback in his recovery from a sprained ankle this week, as it didn't respond to treatment. He ultimately didn't make the flight to London with the team.

Hernandez has missed four games this season with the ankle injury.

Fantasy Impact: There's a possibility he came back too soon after suffering the sprain in Week 2, but the Patriots have a bye in Week 9, so this would give Hernandez two weeks to try getting back to 100%.

This news already broke on Friday, so hopefully fantasy owners have had time to get their ducks in order at TE. You don't want to spend your Sunday morning scrambling for waiver scraps.
