The Packers receiver injured his hamstring in practice on Wednesday and will test it out before the game. We break down the fantasy implications.
Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson is 'unlikely to play today' according to Adam Schefter, leaving Green Bay possibly without their top two receivers against Jacksonville. Nelson injured his hamstring this week in practice and he will be testing it out before the game but it sounds as though there's little chance it will be healed enough to let him start.
With Greg Jennings already out for an extended amount of time with a groin injury, this could leave the Packers with Randall Cobb and James Jones as the starters against the Jaguars. Nelson has 532 yards and five touchdowns on the season.
Fantasy Take: What looked to be a great matchup for Jordy has turned into a disaster for his owners. This news doesn't just mean you should monitor his status to see if he's active, but also that you should probably plan to go with someone else either way. Nelson is a great receiver on a great offense with a great quarterback, but a hamstring injury is too risky to play him on. If there's any chance that you can play one of the other Packers receivers, go for it.
