Sunday's game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons could be marred by rain and high winds, affecting players. We break down the fantasy implications.
Sunday's game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons could be affected by incoming bad weather into the area. While the worst of tropical storm/hurricane Sandy isn't supposed to affect Philadelphia until Monday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, there are already high winds in the city. Weather.com shows light rain and wind just under 20 miles per hour for game time.
Fantasy football owners should note that the quarterbacks in the game, Matt Ryan and Michael Vick, are the most likely to be affected by any inclement weather. If the passing games struggle, it could mean more touches for running backs LeSean McCoy and Michael Turner, though keep in mind that defenses will be more geared against the run.
While the weather won't be ideal, football players have gone through worse. Ryan has been a terrific fantasy option the entire season and could still be productive Sunday. Michael Vick is an iffier starting option, but that would have been the case regardless of the weather.
