Rob Gronkowski is blowing up against the St. Louis Rams. We break down the stats and the fantasy implications.
The New England Patriots are dominating the St. Louis Rams at Wembley Stadium in London, thanks in part to a big game from tight end Rob Gronkowski. The Patriots lead the Rams 28-7 and Gronkowski leads the Patriots with 106 receiving yards and a touchdown. He just missed out on a second touchdown right before the half due to a big deflection by a Rams defender.
The Patriots are without tight end Aaron Hernandez, leaving some wondering who would be the beneficiary of targets. Gronkowski has been that man, leading the team with nine targets.
Fantasy Impact: It is not remotely shocking that Gronkowski is having a big game. He remains at the top among tight ends with Jimmy Graham, and there is nothing to indicate that will change anytime soon. The Patriots have a big lead, but they have never been one to get conservative in such instances. Expect more big numbers from the Patriots offense in the second half.
