US PRESSWIRE

Felix Jones is active in Week 8 for the Dallas Cowboys. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Dallas Cowboys announced their Week 8 inactive list, and running back Felix Jones will be active for their matchup with the New York Giants. Jones was limited much of the week with a knee injury, but he will be playing. DeMarco Murray is inactive, which means Jones should get the bulk of the carries.

Jones struggled with only 44 yards on 15 carries in Week 7 against the Panthers. This came a week after he rushed 18 times for 92 yards and a touchdown. Phillip Tanner will serve as Jones' backup a week after getting 13 carries following Jones' knee injury against the Panthers.

Fantasy Impact: The Cowboys face a decent matchup against the New York Giants, who rank No. 26 in adjusted line yards by their defensive front. If completely healthy, Jones is looking at a juicy home matchup. Unfortunately, we do not know for sure how healthy that knee is. Jones is a guy worth starting, particularly if you are dealing with bye week issues, but temper your expectations this week.
