Calvin Johnson was held to three catches in his hyped matchup with Richard Sherman. We break down the fantasy implications.
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson was kept mostly quiet again in one of the most hyped WR/CB matchups of the season. Against Richard Sherman and the Seahawks in Week 8, Johnson was held to three catches for 46 yards in the Lions' 28-24 win.
This matchup got some spice earlier in the week when Sherman changed his Twitter handle to "Optimus Prime" (Johnson's nickname is Megatron). Prime did his job for the most part, but the Autobots ended up losing.
Fantasy Impact: Sherman has quickly emerged as one of the top corners in the league, so there's no shame in getting beat by him. Megatron couldn't get going until late in the game when the Lions tried moving him around more to exploit weaker matchups.
Fantasy owners shouldn't panic about Megatron yet, he remains a top WR1 option against the Jaguars in Week 9.
