Philip Rivers went 18-for-34 passing for a season-low 154 yards as the San Diego Chargers lost to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Inclement weather played a big part in the bad performance. The Chargers' leading receiver was running back Ronnie Brown, who had seven receptions for 85 yards.
Rivers' performance ended a streak of three straight games with two touchdown passes. It was also his first game since Week 1 without an interception. Rivers has passed for under 200 yards twice this season.
Fantasy Impact: While you can't blame Rivers too much due to mother nature, there's no denying the fact that he simply hasn't played well in recent weeks. He has been able to find the end zone which is good, but he has been poison in fantasy leagues that deduct point for interceptions.
With just one game over 300 yards passing this season, Rivers doesn't appear to have the upside he once had. Though he has good matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs next week, you might be better off avoiding him in your starting lineup if possible.
