Ronnie Brown caught seven passes for 85 yards during the Chargers' loss to the Browns on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Ronnie Brown led the San Diego Chargers on Sunday with 85 yards receiving on seven receptions. The Chargers lost to the Cleveland Browns, 7-6, in wet and sloppy conditions. Brown had more than half of Philip Rivers' 154 yards passing on the day.
Malcom Floyd was the Chargers' next leading receiver with four receptions for 43 yards. Antonio Gates finished with just two receptions for 14 yards.
Fantasy Impact: Factor in 17 yards on four carries, and Sunday was easily Brown's most productive outing of the season. Awful weather forced Rivers into check-down mode, giving Brown 11 targets out of the backfield.
It was not a good day for the multitude of Floyd and Gates owners expecting both players to torch an iffy Browns secondary. Expect both players to bounce back next week against the Kansas City Chiefs playing in (hopefully) better conditions.
