Darren Sproles had seven receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown during Sunday night's game between the Saints and the Broncos. We break down the fantasy implications.
Darren Sproles had seven receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown off nine targets during the New Orleans Saints' loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football. He struggled running the ball, however, recording four carries for minus-one yard.
Sproles led the team in receptions, and was one target off of the 10 Drew Brees threw the way of Jimmy Graham and Marques Colston. Sproles has caught four touchdowns on the season in seven games.
Fantasy Impact: Sproles has been a very effective receiver throughout the season, especially in PPR leagues where his targets make up for his lack of production in the running game. He is certainly worth Flex consideration at this point, even in non-PPR standard leagues.
The Saints host the Philadelphia Eagles next week, though a lockdown secondary doesn't necessarily affect how the backfield operates. Sproles could continue to thrive as defenses focus their attention on Graham and a deep receiving corps.
