Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best has to get back on the practice field soon if he wants to return this season. According to The Detroit Free Press, Best has until Nov. 5 to begin practicing. The team would then have another three weeks to promote him to the 53-man roster before he's officially lost for the season.
Best remains on the physically-unable-to-perform list after not being cleared by doctors earlier this month. It's not known if Best will take another concussion test before the deadline. Best, however, has said he remains "hopeful."
Fantasy Impact: There was some hope earlier this month that Best would return and help the Lions running game. It seems more likely that Best will not play again this season. The Lions will likely keep using Mikel Leshoure, who had 46 yards on 10 carries in Sunday's win over Seattle.
Fantasy owners hoping for a return by Best are almost out of time. He might be worth stashing away in a dynasty format but he's likely not going to help at all this season.
