Santonio Holmes is likely out for the remainder of the 2012 season with a Lisfranc foot injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Two days after injuring his foot against the San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes has reportedly been diagnosed with a Lisfranc injury to his foot. Jason Cole tweeted that Holmes was 99% certain to be out for the season.
Fantasy Impact: This is generally one of the worst in-season foot injuries as it usually results in a missed season. Similar injuries felled Darren McFadden and Matt Schaub in 2011. Holmes should be back in plenty of time for next season, but he will likely be on the shelf the rest of this year. Holmes was coming off a huge game against the Miami Dolphins in which he hauled in 147 receiving yards. It will be worth waiting a day or two for official word, but one and done leagues will want to release Holmes at some point this week.
