Santonio Holmes will miss the rest of the 2012 season to undergo surgery on his Lisfranc injury, according to reports. We break down the fantasy implications.
Santonio Holmes will miss the rest of the 2012 season to undergo surgery for a Lisfranc injury, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan announced Wednesday. Holmes had to be carted of the field against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4 due to the injury. The move bumps Stephen Hill, Jeremy Kerley and Chaz Schilens up the depth chart. The Jets also signed Jason Hill on Wednesday to add depth to the receiving corps.
Fantasy Impact: The Jets are now down arguably their biggest offensive playmaker after losing what was inarguably their biggest defensive playmaker in Darrelle Revis. There is very little light coming out of the end of the tunnel for the Jets coming off a shellacking by the Niners. Hill's fantasy value stands to rise the most due to Holmes' injury, but the current state of the Jets makes it difficult to recommend any member of the team.
