Jonathan Stewart participates in practice this week: Fantasy Implications

Jeremy Brevard-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart participated in practice this week. We breakdown the fantasy implications.

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart (toe, ankle) participated in Wednesday's practice, per Joseph Person. Stewart saw time in Week 4 and finished relatively unscathed, and should be active for this weekend's match-up versus the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Analysis: Stewart will be good to go in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks. However talented, Stewart sharing carries in a crowded backfield in Carolina limits his fantasy value. The presence of Deangelo Williams and Mike Tolbert makes him nothing more than a flex option. Stewart is great in that there's a chance he finds the end zone with Carolina's offensive approach. But yards, consistency and his overall downside are fantasy repellent. Stewart owners should feel free to explore other options at the flex position.
