Frank Gore had 55 yards rushing on 16 carries and 11 yards receiving off a lone reception to help the San Francisco 49ers dismantle the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. Kendall Hunter was given a significant rushing load as well, carrying the ball 10 times for 43 yards.
Gore was held without a touchdown for a third straight game after recording four in his five games of the season. Hunter's outing was his second with more than 10 carries this year.
Fantasy Impact: Circumstances unfolded exactly as Gore owners hoped they would. The Niners shut down the Cardinals offense while building a significant lead, giving them every reason to run the ball down the Cards' throat. Hunter took on the extra carries late, however, rushing six times for 14 yards in the fourth quarter.
Gore is still a solid RB1/RB2 in standard formats. Don't forget that he had 182 total yards in Week 7 against the Seattle Seahawks. The Cards are on a bye for Week 9, but he should be able to put up decent numbers against the St. Louis Rams in Week 10.
