Randy Moss had just one reception Monday night, but he took it 47 yards for a touchdown to help the 49ers beat the Cardinals. We break down the fantasy implications.
Randy Moss caught just one pass Monday night but made it a big one, going 47 yards for a touchdown to help the San Francisco 49ers beat the Arizona Cardinals. The reception came off his only target on the night.
Moss' touchdown was his first since the season opener, when he caught a season-high four passes for 47 yards. He has four receptions over his last three games combined.
Fantasy Impact: Moss proved he is still a very dangerous football player on the long third-quarter catch-and-run. Fantasy owners have to be concerned about his diminishing involvement in the 49ers' offense, however. He had the same number of targets over the first three games of the season (11) as he has had over the last five.
The Niners are on a bye in Week 9, but a Week 10 matchup against an excellent St. Louis Rams secondary does not bode particularly well for Moss' fantasy value. The veteran is a desperate Flex play at best in standard fantasy formats.
