Nate Kaeding will be waived by the San Diego Chargers after passing his physical Tuesday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Nate Kaeding will be waived by the San Diego Chargers, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Kaeding passed his physical Tuesday, clearing the kicker to be let go after nine years with the squad. He was placed on injured reserve last week with a minor injury designation.

Nick Novak will remain the Chargers' starting kicker after taking the job in Week 4 when Kaeding suffered a groin injury. Novak is 7-of-8 on field goal attempts this season, with his lone miss coming from beyond 50 yards. Kaeding went 7-for-7 this season.

Fantasy Impact: Kaeding is still the most accurate regular-season kicker in NFL history, so expect him to find his way back with an NFL squad in due time. The Chargers simply had too many good kickers and needed to let one go. Novak is a solid starting fantasy option going forward.
