Calvin Johnson missed practice Wednesday for the Detroit Lions, and had been playing through a knee injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Calvin Johnson missed practice Wednesday for the Detroit Lions, according to Tim Twentyman of the team's official site. Johnson has been "plowing through" a knee injury, head coach Jim Schwartz said following Sunday's game, and is likely being held out as a precaution.
Johnson is coming off his worst outings of the season in back-to-back weeks. He had just three receptions for 34 yards two weeks ago against the Chicago Bears, and three receptions for 46 yards last week against the Seattle Seahawks.
Fantasy Impact: Johnson is struggling mightily at the moment. He was targeted eight times against Seattle, which is the fewest he has seen since the season opener. Also alarming is the fact that Johnson still only has one touchdown catch on the season.
The good news is that after going up against two of the best pass defenses in the league, he has a much easier matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. Keep an eye on practice reports, but the assumption is that Johnson will play this week. Don't loss faith in him just yet, keep Megatron in your starting fantasy lineup.
