Anthony Armstrong was released from the Dolphins on Wednesday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Anthony Armstrong has been granted his release from the Miami Dolphins, Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post reports. Armstrong appeared in five games with the team this season, and recorded just three receptions for 12 yards.
Armstrong's release coincides with Jabar Gaffney being marked active for the first time this season last week against the New York Jets. Gaffney caught one pass for 30 yards.
Fantasy Impact: Armstrong has been an effective deep threat at times in his career, but showed little propensity for anything else. With Gaffney taking over as the Dolphins' downfield threat, there was little reason to keep Armstrong around.
Armstrong could still find his way onto another team this season, but he is unlikely to gain any fantasy relevance in the process of changing teams.
