Phil Sears-US PRESSWIRE
Laurent Robinson is expected to be available for the Jaguars on Sunday for the first time since suffering a concussion in Week 4. Cecil Shorts will start, however. We break down the fantasy implications.
Laurent Robinson is expected to return this week for the Jacksonville Jaguars from a Week 4 concussion, according to John Oehser of the team's official site. Cecil Shorts is expected to remain the Jags' starting outside receiver, however.
Head coach Mike Mularkey did not indicate who would be the starter in the slot opposite Shorts, noting that any of the team's receivers, including Justin Blackmon, could see the field. It is unclear what kind of role Robinson will take on when the Jaguars host the Detroit Lions.
Fantasy Impact: Robinson's return will eventually give the Jaguars' passing game a big boost over the second half of the regular season. In combination with Blackmon and Shorts, Jacksonville may actually have a passable receiving corps. The problems at quarterback can't be ignored, however. Until Blaine Gabbert takes his game to the next level, none of the Jags' top three receivers can be considered reliable starting options in standard fantasy leagues.
