Stephen Hill will miss practice Thursday: Week 5 fantasy status hazy

Ed Mulholland-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Stephen Hill will miss practice Thursday for the New York Jets due to a lingering hamstring injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Stephen Hill will sit out New York Jets practice Thursday due to his lingering hamstring injury, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. Hill missed last week's game against the San Francisco 49ers due to the injury, and has yet to catch a pass since the season opener.

Fantasy Impact: The Jets need Hill to get healthy desperately now that Santonio Holmes has been ruled out for the rest of the 2012 season. Even if the rookie is able to get healthy by Monday night against the Houston Texans, he still apparently has a long way to go before becoming a productive NFL wide receiver. His fantasy prospects have certainly gone up since Wednesday, but that doesn't mean he is a viable option just yet even in deeper leagues.
