Evan Habeeb-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
Julian Edelman will miss the Patriots' Week 5 bout against the Broncos due to a hand injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Julian Edelman has been ruled out for Week 5 when the New England Patriots take on the Denver Broncos, according to Shalise Young of the Boston Globe. Edelman was held out of last week's game as well after leaving the Pats' Week 3 tilt with Baltimore Ravens due to a hand injury.
Fantasy Impact: The great Julian Edelman-Wes Welker debate will be put off for another week in Foxborough as a result. Welker should see a full complement targets, barring an unlikely return for tight end Aaron Hernandez from an ankle injury. As for Edelman, he seems like a potentially tremendous sleeper in PPR leagues if the Patriots use him like they have hinted they might. Until he is on the field healthy, we won't know for sure, however.
